Latvia

Latvia is a country in the Baltic region of Northen Europe . Since its independence, Latvia has been referred to as one of the Baltic states. It is bordered by Estonia to the north, Lithuania to the south, Russia to the east, Belarus to the southeast, and shares a maritime border with Sweden to the west.

Venta Rapid

Is a waterfall on the Venta River in KuldīgaLatvia. It is the widest waterfall in Europe at 249 metres , and becomes as wide as 270 metres during spring floods. The height of the falls vary from 1.80 to 2.20 metres /depending on the level of water in the river.

Kemeri National Park

Is anational park west of the city of JūrmalaLatvia. Established in 1997, Ķemeri is the third largest national park in the country by area, covering an area of 381.65 km². The territory of the park is mostly occupied by forests and mires . There are also several lakes, that are former lagoons of the Littorina Sea. Lake Kaņieris is a Ramsar site. The park also protects the famous natural mineral-springs and muds, used for centuries because of their therapeutic nature. 

Kuldiga

Is a town in western Latvia. It is the center of Kuldīga Municipality with a population of approximately 13,500.

Kuldīga is an ancient town in Latvia’s wester region of Kurzeme with distinctive architecture. Saint Catherine is believed to be the patron saint of Kuldīga, and the oldest church of the town is named after St Catherine. The foundation of the building was laid as early as in 1252. The church has been remodeled a number of times. The small River Alekšupīte runs through the very centre of the Kuldīga old town, along the walls of the houses. The Old Town around the small river itself is the only remaining 17th–18th-century ensemble of this kind in the Baltic states.

Sweden

Is a country in Northern Europe.It borders Norway to the west and north and Finland to the east, and isc connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel across the Öresund Strait. Sweden is the largest country in Northern Europe, the third-largest country in the European Union and the fifth largest country in Europe by area. The capital city is Stockholm.

Lake Siljian

Siljan, in Dalarna in central Sweden, is Sweden’s sixth largest lake. The cumulative area of Siljan and the adjacent, smaller lakes Orsasjön and Insjön is 354 km2 Siljan reaches a maximum depth of 134 m , and its surface is situated 161 m above sea level. The largest town on its shore is Mora.

Hoga Kusten

is a part of the coast of Sweden on the Gulf of Bothnia, in the municipalities of KramforsHärnösand and Örnsköldsvik, notable as an area for research on post-glacial rebound and eustacy, in which the land rises as the covering glaciers melt, a phenomenon first recognised and studied there

Kungsleden

Is a hiking trail in northern Sweden, approximately 440 kilometres long, between Abisko in the north and Hemavan in the south. It passes through, near the southern end, the Vindelfjällen Nature Reserve, one of the largest protected areas in Europe. In the winter Kungsleden is a ski trail with approximately the same route.

Portugal

Is a country located mostly on the Iberian Peninsula, in southwestern Europe. It is the westernmost sovereign state of mainland Europe, being bordered to the west and south by the Atlantic Ocean and to the north and east by Spain. Its territory also includes the Atlantic archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira, both autonomous regions with their own regional governments.

Douro Vinhateiro

Is one of the major rivers of the Iberian Peninsula, flowing from its source near Duruelo de la Sierra in Soria Province across northern-central Spain and Portugal to its outlet at Porto. It is the third-longest river in the Iberian Peninsula after the Tagus and Ebro. Its total length is 897 kilometres .

Obidos Castle

Is a well-preserved medieval castle located in the civil parish of Santa Maria, São Pedro e Sobral da Lagoa, in the municipality of ÓbidosOeste portuguese region.

Greece

 Is a country located in Southeast Europe. Its population is approximately 10.7 million as of 2018; Athens is the nation’s capital and largest city, followed by Thessaloniki. Situated on the southern tip of the Balkan Peninsula, Greece shares land borders with Albania to the northwest, North Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the northeast. The Aegean Sea lies to the east of the mainland, the Ionian Sea to the west, the Cretan Sea and the Mediterranean Sea to the south.  Eighty percent of Greece is mountainous, with Mount Olympus being the highest peak at 2,918 metres (9,573 ft)

The Pindus Mountain

Is a mountain range located in northern Greece and southern Albania. It is roughly 160 km long, with a maximum elevation of 2,637m (Mount Smolikas). Because it runs along the border of Thessaly and Epirus, the Pindus range is known colloquially as the spine of Greece


Lake Vouliagmeni

Is a small brackish-water lake fed by underground currents seeping through the mass of Mount Hymettus located to the south of Vouliagmeni, Greece.

Crete

Is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands, the 88th largest island in the world and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, after SicilySardiniaCyprus, and Corsica

Fagaras Mountain

Fagaras Mountains are the highest mountains of the Southen carapathians in Rumania. Highest point is Moldovenau 2,544 m. The Făgăraș Mountains are a very popular hiking, trekking and skiing destination in Romania

Transfagarasan

Is a paved mountain road crossing the southen selection of the carpathian mountains in Rumania. It has national road ranking and is the second – highest paved road in the country after the Transalpina. It is generally open only between June and September, due to unfavorable weather conditions in the rest of the year.

Delta Dunarii

Delta is the second largest river delta in Europe, after the Volga Delta, and is the best preserved on the lies in Romania . With a small part in Ukraine. Recorded history notes that the Dacians lived in the Danube Delta before it was conquered by the Romans

Karpatii Romanie

The Southem Carpathians are a group of mountain ranges located in Southern Romania. They cover the Evelation 2,544 m. Part of the Carpathion Mouthains located between the Prahova River in the east the Timis and Cerna Rivers in the west.

. Their high mountain character, combined with great accessibility, makes them popular with tourists and scientists.

Scarisoara Cave

Is one of the biggest caves in the Apuseni Mountains of Romania, in a part of Carpathian chain. It is considered a show cave and on of the natural wonders of Romania. Depth 105m and lenght 720m. The portion of the cave open to tourists includes the entrance shaft, The Big Hall and The Church. Access to the other chambers is reserved for scientific research by the agreement of the Speological Institute of Cluj-Napoca. The temperature is up to +1 °C in the summer and down to -7 °C in the winter. 

Croatia

Croatia  is a country at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe, on the Adriatic Sea. It borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bostia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro to the southeast, sharing a maritime border with Italy.

VELEBIT MOUNTAIN

Its highest peak is the Vaganski vrh at 1,757 m

Velebit is usually divided into four regions:

  • the northern part between the mountain passes Vratnik and Veliki Alan, with the highest peak Mali Rajinac (1699 m)
  • the middle part between Veliki Alan and Baške Oštarije with the highest peak Šatorina (1624 m)
  • the southern part between Oštarije and Mali Alan (peaks Vaganski vrh – 1757, Sveto brdo – 1753,)
  • the southeastern part with Crnopac as the most remarkable peak

Plitvice Lakes National Park

Is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia . Plitvice Lakes National Park is a 295-sq.-km forest reserve in central Croatia. It’s known for a chain of 16 terraced lakes, joined by waterfalls, that extend into a limestone canyon .

The lakes are all interconnected and follow the water flow. They are separated by natural dams of travertine, which is deposited by the action of mossalgae, and bacteria

Galesnjak

Galešnjak is a heart-shaped island, called as a Island of Love, Lover’s Island or Love Island which is also located in the Zadar archipelago. It is one of the most popular heart islands on the planet. The island has an special aura, a charm which is almost magical, expecially for couples in love.

The island has a surface area of 0.132 km2, with its beach measuring 1.55 km in length. The island features two peaks, the highest of which is 36 m high above sea level. alešnjak is privately owned by the Jureško family .

 Walls of Dubrovnik

Are a series of defensive stone walls surrounding the city of Dubrovnik in southern Croatia . The city walls have been preserved to the present day .

The present shape of the walls was defined in the 14th century after the city gained its full independence from Venetian suzerainty, but the peak of its construction lasted from the beginning of the 15th century until the latter half of the 16th century.

In 1979, the old city of Dubrovnik, which includes a substantial portion of the old walls of Dubrovnik, joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Krka National Park

Krka National Park is situated along the Krka River in southern Croatia. It’s known for a series of 7 waterfalls. The Krka National Park is located entirely within the territory of Šibenik-Knin County and encompasses an area of 109 square kilometers along the Krka River

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
